Gears 5 was originally released in September 2019, and fans have been eagerly waiting to continue the epic story ever since.

Gears 6 release date
Rand Al Thor 19 explained in an episode of Xbox News Distribution podcast that Gears of War studio The Coalition had two projects in the works.
One such project is Gears of War 6, which Rand al Thor revealed he was “taught about” by Jez Corden of Windows Central should be released between 2024 and 2025.
The other game is apparently a “new, smaller IP” which is due out before Gears 6 in 2023.
There is no indication as to the lowest IP address, but it has been confirmed that this is not a version of the Matrix game driven by the Unreal 5 engine which currently has a tech demo available on Xbox Series X/S and PS5.
The reason Gears 6 is so far behind would be due to the aforementioned Unreal 5 engine. Fully developing the new software and bringing out the best in next-gen Xboxes will take time, and it’s believed that the new Gears of War game will use the new Unreal engine.
Coalition revealed in May 2021 that they were going to work with Unreal 5, which means they wouldn’t be releasing new games for a while.
The official developer blog noted, “Moving to a new engine is a big undertaking, so we want to be clear that we won’t be announcing any new projects or titles for some time.”
So we anticipate that it will be some time before we have the official announcement of Gears of War 6.
