Texas High Court denies review of Tony Romo’s NFL suit



Law360 (June 5, 2020, 7:39 p.m. EDT) – The Texas Supreme Court has ruled out for the second time the attempt by Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo to put to a jury the allegations that the NFL sentenced its fantastic sports convention.

The court dismissed The Fan Expo LLC’s petition on Friday, months after the company argued the court should reconsider the case because the appeals court naively took the NFL at its word when it said it hadn’t intentionally hosted a fantasy football convention in 2016. Fan Expo said a jury should have been allowed to decide whether the NFL killed the convention by heavily arming a sponsor, video game maker Electronic Arts. ..
