KARACHI: The Pakistan Football Federation (PFF) has announced its busy schedule ahead of 2023.

The federation has announced its busy schedule, offering a new ray of hope for players and fans of the game after a long period of decline for football in Pakistan.

The PFF took to their official Twitter account to unveil their busy schedule with various age category events taking place in the future.

“So much football to look forward to. A huge opportunity for all our players. It’s time to take Pakistani football to new heights. Forward and upward,” the national football regulatory authority wrote.

The football activities have already started as the Pakistan women’s football team participated in the 2022 SAFF Women’s Championship in Nepal. Shaheens won one of their three group matches to give the new era a strong start.

FIFA recently lifted a ban on Pakistani football after the takeover of the Ashfaq Group led to the international football governing body suspending the PFF.

FIFA lifts ban on Pakistani football

On June 30, 2022, FIFA had decided to lift the ban on the PFF, imposed in April 2021 due to undue interference by third parties.

FIFA has also extended the mandate of the Normalization Committee (NC) by 12 months.

According to FIFA, the normalization committee’s mandate includes managing the day-to-day affairs of the PFF, ensuring proper registration and control of clubs in Pakistan, drafting and ratifying, with the assistance of FIFA and the AFC, a electoral code for the PFF, organize the elections at the district level then at the provincial level and proceed with the elections of a new executive committee of the PFF.
