The tournament will take place in strict compliance with the Covid prohibition rules.
Besides large billboards across the city, important city joints have been embellished with murals, sculptures to create a football tournament atmosphere. The civic body has transformed one of its pitches in Sector 19 in Nerul into an international standard football pitch.
Nandani Arora, Project Director of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup 2022 Local Organizing Committee, left the bus at Belapur Municipal Headquarters last week.
“The bus has been transformed into a float which contains full information about the AFC tournament along with the schedule of all matches to be played in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Pune. There are banners of India women’s soccer team performances and pictures of female soccer players from the participating continent,” an NMMC official said. He added that the bus was designed under the guidance of JJ School of Arts alumnus and renowned artist Amol Thakurdas. “Jingles and video recordings of the players are also displayed on the screen inside the tank,” he added.
