Windey was a cheerleader for the NFL’s Denver Broncos for five years. Cheerleading is based on both dance and gymnastics, which can be fun ways to exercise. “Gymnasts need endurance and good cardiovascular health”, says sports medicine specialist Marie Schaefer, MD. “Exercises that get your heart pumping are beneficial both during and between competitive seasons… A strong core is vitally important for gymnasts. A stress fracture in the lower back is a common gym injury that can be avoided with proper core strength.Core strength provides lumbar support and relieves your spine. This is especially helpful when bending your back for exits and arch position.

Winsey likes to eat oysters, which experts say can have huge health benefits. “Yes, oysters are very good for your health”, says dietician in preventive cardiology Julia Zumpano, RD, LD. “In fact, you probably didn’t know that it’s hard to beat all the health benefits of oysters from a nutritional standpoint. Oysters can really pack a healthy punch. Think of oysters as little shells full of nutrients.”

Windey enjoys the little moments with fiancé Erich Schwer. “We’re just thrilled to finally be free and do the little things together — go to dinner, get groceries, go to the beach — just the mundane things that are always more fun with a partner by your side,” Windey tells Variety. “Fortunately, we’re both in the same city, so there’s not too much coordination. We’re just excited to start this new chapter and really build life together.”

Windey loves his seafood, especially his delicious shrimp. “Shellfish – especially crustaceans – are rich in amino acids, known as the ‘building blocks’ of protein, because we need them for growth, repair, and the synthesis of hormones and neurotransmitters,” says registered nutritionist Nicola Shubrook. “Most shellfish are high in vitamin B12, an important nutrient needed to build healthy bones. Low levels of vitamin B12, also known as pernicious anemia, may increase your risk of osteoporosis along with age.”

Windey loves training for Dancing With the Stars with her partner Schwer. “He’s doing great. I show him all my dance moves and try to practice with him, so I just want to, you know, involve him as much as possible. He’s been so supportive of me.” she tells Extra.
